Bach Stradivarius Brass Instruments

Picture
A lot of people use a product because they're endorsed to do so. Mr. Wagner played Bach trumpets long before becoming an Endorsed Performing Artist going back to high school. Being a gear junky and always interested in trying everything it still comes back to the fact that it's easier to produce his own voice with a Bach Stradivarius instrument. All of his trumpets, his cornet, and flugelhorn are Bach. You can click on the links below to take you to the Bach Brass website for more information on each model! You can also visit the Build-A-Bach website to make your own!!

Osmun Blueprinting Services

Picture
Blueprinting can be done on any brand of instrument and will make a good instrument great and a great instrument exceptional. This includes a precision valve alignment, rounding out the bell bow, checking for and removing burrs in the valve cluster and water keys, checking for and removing obstructions at the solder joints, checking slides for fit and alignment, and checking/adjusting mouthpiece venturi and mouthpiece receiver. Even under the best conditions some things can be missed. Osmun Music can also take care of any standard repairs while your horn is in. Check out their website to make an appointment of get supplies that you need! https://osmun.com

Cases

Picture
All of my horns are safely transported in cases made by TorpedoBag, which has its headquarters and production facility in Minneapolis, MN and uses materials and workers from here in the USA. My single case is a TorpedoBag Outlaw Loredo in brown leather and my multiple case is a TorpedoBag Coyote with wheels and a snarl lid, also in brown leather. With the fragility of the solid silver bells on my Bach instruments I wouldn't trust anything else to transport them! Check out the site and support a great domestic brand that also makes a superior product that will last you a lifetime. https://torpedobags.com

For my mutes I like to use MyMuteBag. They are great cases and have a modular design to keep things safe and organized. For those who carry a lot of mutes regularly the trombone version works best. It also has the added benefit of having a pocket large enough to handle an iPad Pro 12.9" (1st Gen and up) with an Otterbox Defender case on it. https://www.mymutebag.com

Mutes

Mutes play an important role in performance on a brass instrument. Each brand and model has a unique sound. My preferred modern brands are Trumcor Mutes and mutes from Huber Music. I have linked video recordings on the mutes below. When I present clinics I include this packet on Trumpet Mutes to give more information on markings, usage, and adjusting for optimum performance! You may also find this video on HOW TO ADJUST MUTE CORKS (CUP MUTE) informative.

The main thing to remember is when playing in a section, your mutes should match to provide the best blend.
